Will I turn Orange after the application?

NO!!!! St. Tropez uses a base tone of corrective green while others are from a red, which gives that orange effect. St Tropez is formulated to work with the natural tone of your skin to create a chocolate tan.

What to do before having a spray tan?

Exfoliate your entire body before the application. On the day do not wear any moisturiser, deodorant nor perfume. Come to the salon with loose dark clothes

What happens at the salon?

We will provide you with a g-string and hair cap but you can keep your own underwear if you wish. The application takes place in a spray tan tent in our treatment room as we spray you with a professional spray gun ( best way to not miss details and make sure the result is even all over your body). The application takes from 10 to 15 minutes and then you need around 10 minutes to dry your skin before  you leave, but as a precaution, do not allow your skin to get wet for at least 5 hours after the tanning application. Showering the following morning is the best option.

What to do after the spray tan and How to look after my tan?

You will have to avoid being in contact with water for the next 5 hours and avoid perspiration. As St Tropez is a quick drying tan, you can shower after 3 hours however, maximum results will be achieved within a 6 hour period or over night. Always better to wait until the next day. During your next shower, wash your skin lightly without rubbing it. The excess colour will come off to leave your skin looking perfect! After your shower, MOISTURISE your skin (dry skin will shorten the life of the tan) and do that as much as you can because it is the only way to keep your tan lasting longer.

The tan stays on the surface of the skin and will slowly disappear with the dead cells. By looking after your skin and keeping it well hydrated (moisturised), the tan will stay longer and can last from 5 to 10 days depending on the individual. Other tips in maintaining your spray tan is to avoid long baths, hot spas and extended swimming sessions. Avoid products designed to exfoliate your skin like AHA's.

Can pregnant or nursing mothers use the St. Tropez spray tan?

The concern some doctors have is over whether or not the active ingredient (DHA) is able to enter the blood stream, indications being that it cannot. DHA only penetrates the top 3 layers of the skin. However, if the client is still concerned they should consult their physician first. DHA has been used as a cosmetic ingredient in the United States since 1960 and no problems have been reported concerning DHA penetrating the skin or causing problems during pregnancy.

Important information:

If you feel you have highly sensitive skin, or you have any doubts, we recommend a small, localised test spray to check your skin compatibility before having your St. Tropez body spray.

Sunscreen: The St. Tropez spray-on tan does not provide any sun protection and it does not contain a sunscreen. Please make sure you apply sunscreen to prevent sunburn when outdoors.
